Steps to Register for the NNAAP® Nurse Aide Exam
Complete nurse aide training program
Student must complete the state-approved nurse aide training program.
If you did not complete a state-approved training, you may still register under a different eligibility route as listed in the Candidate Handbook.
Review Candidate Handbook
Your Candidate Handbook is your handy guide to answer all the questions you have about submitting an application, scheduling, taking an exam, getting score results, and much more.
Create Your Credentia Platform Account
Create an account with our online Credentia Platform system to register for testing by clicking the "Sign Up" link on the login page. You will need to submit an application for testing in order to register for exams.
We highly recommend that you read the Registration Quick Reference Guide with detailed instructions on how to register online for your exam BEFORE you begin the registration process.
Attention Pearson VUE System Users!
If you previously had an online Pearson VUE account to register for examinations and/or manage your nurse aide registration, you'll need to create a new Credentia Platform online account. Click here to login and then click the "Sign Up" link on the login page.
When you create a new Credentia Platform account, all of the data from your old Pearson VUE online account will carry over to your new Credentia account.
Online Exams
Take your written or oral exam conveniently from home or work through Credentia online proctoring!
A live proctor will monitor you through the webcam on your workstation to provide a secure exam experience.
District of Columbia Nurse Aide Registry Search
To conduct a search, you will need the name, city, and date of birth OR registration number of the nurse aide.
Need to Renew Your Nurse Aide Registration?
To be eligible for continued enrollment on the District of Columbia Nurse Aide Registry, you are required to work as a nurse aide at least one documented day (eight consecutive hours) for pay during the previous twenty-four (24) months, under the supervision of an RN or LPN.
Click here to create a Credentia Platform account to submit a renewal application. See our Renewal Quick Reference Guide on how to submit a renewal application.
Enrolling on the DC Nurse Aide Registry Through Reciprocity
