National Advisory Committees

Credentia has formed three National Advisory Committees to support the continued advancement and innovation of the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program (NNAAP)® and the Medication Aide Certification Exam (MACE)®. These Committees will serve as a collaborative body of industry leaders who bring insight, expertise, and diverse perspectives to strengthen the integrity, accessibility, and relevance of nurse aide certification and healthcare workforce development.

The General Advisory Committee

This Committee serves as a strategic policy and public engagement body. Its members provide guidance on issues such as workforce trends, certification accessibility, and alignment with public health goals. Members often include state nurse aide program directors, long-term care facility administrators, public health officials, employer representatives, and education leaders. The committee also plays a critical role in shaping the annual conference and guiding strategic planning.

Mr. Reuben Argel

Mr. Reuben Argel

Director of Nursing Assistant Program

Mr.Reuben Sangco Argel is the Director for Nursing Assistant Education with the Washington State Board of Nursing. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from George Mason University and an MBA from Hawaii Pacific University, along with certification in Surgical Services Management. He is fluent in Filipino (Tagalog). A commissioned officer in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps, Reuben has served in senior command and operational roles, including Deputy Commander for Joint Task Force Medical–Afghanistan. His military honors include the Bronze Star Medal and multiple service and commendation awards. In his civilian career, he has worked at every level of professional nursing—from Certified Nursing Assistant to Facility Administrator—and is committed to advancing high-quality nursing assistant education.

COMMITTEE CHAIR

Technical Advisory Committee

This Committee focuses on digital infrastructure, innovation, and accessibility in testing environments. This committee offers expert advice on platform development, cybersecurity, user experience design, and integration of advanced technologies such as extended reality (XR) and simulation-based assessments. Members may come from IT leadership, learning management systems (LMS) development, digital accessibility, user interface design, and candidate support services.

Ms. Christine Tran

Ms. Christine Tran

Program Specialist, WA State Board of Nursing

Ms. Christine Tran holds a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and brings a multidisciplinary background spanning healthcare, public service, and technology. She currently works as a Nursing Assistant Training Program Specialist with the Washington State Board of Nursing, after previously serving as a Health Care Provider Credentialing Specialist at the Washington State Department of Health.With early training in computer programming, Christine plays a key technical advisory role on her team, leading efforts to improve and optimize digital tools and serving as the primary point of contact for technical support. She is dedicated to strengthening the healthcare workforce, promoting effective use of technology, and ensuring public safety through high-quality nursing assistant training programs.

COMMITTEE CHAIR

Validity & Reliability Advisory Committee

This Committee ensures that all assessments are psychometrically sound, fair, and in compliance with national accreditation standards. This includes oversight of job task analysis, exam blueprint validation, test fairness reviews, and support for accreditation documentation. Members are typically senior psychometricians, test developers, educational measurement scientists, and regulatory consultants.

Ms. Sandra Gonzalez Graham

MSN, RN, Nurse Consultant, WA State Board of Nursing

Ms. Sandra Gonzalez Graham is currently a Nurse Consultant for the Washington State Board of Nursing, focusing on Nursing Assistant Education programs. With 47 years of experience as a nurse, educator, and regulator, she is deeply committed to expanding equitable access to education for a diverse healthcare workforce. She played a key role in developing Washington State’s Fast-Track NAC pilot, helping streamline skills testing and reduce barriers for candidates. Her background in nursing, allied health, online education, and bilingual (Spanish/English) healthcare interpretation has also supported curriculum development and simulation-based learning initiatives.
